Roots for the Mother Tree

The Museum of Motherhood is pleased to build on the success of Helen Heibert’s Mother Tree sculpture by adding to her roots and raising the funds necessary to purchase her for our permanent collection. Over four hundred people have participated so far. Our focus is on the community connections the Mother Tree inspires!

You can participate by crocheting a strand, making an affirmation, and donating to our fundraiser.

GUIDELINES:

FIBER: Natural plant fibers, any size crochet hook

COLOR: Natural colors only please, hand died is okay

STITCH: Basic chain stitch

LENGTH: Strands can be between 5 and 20 feet long
