Questions: Herstory: Tracing a Women’s Progress Nationally & Local, child friendly, accessible, free to all
Follow the North American Women’s Movement over the last 250 years and the ways in which women’s progress intersects with herstory, everyday practical activism, and the family. Beginning in the early 1800s, girls began leaving home to work in some of the United States’ first factories. From the rise of the industrial revolution and the Lowell Factory girls, and convention days in Seneca Falls, to abolitionism, women began expressing their desire for autonomy and freedom. From their farms and families, to what we now recognize as the modern world, women have changed the scope of our policy, perspective, and environment. While some things have changed a lot and other things have not changed very much, our local, national, and international connections and legacies define us all. Find out more about some of our local and national Sheroes here at MoM.
