Science
Doulas, doctors, and birth experts present information aimed at empowering individuals. Putting the experiences of pregnancy, birth, early childhood, and matrescence front and center we create an informative and supportive space for those exploring their reproductive identity. MoM works with the traveling nurses of Harlem, Saving Mothers, and others to empower sustainable wellbeing for mothers and families.

Herstory
Surrounded by murals from the suffragette and civil rights movements, MoM participants acknowledge the past while writing their own herstory. Onsite events include classes in the the last 250 years of the American women’s movement, the history of birth practices through the ages, civil rights activism, and exhibits on the Founding Mothers featuring the female sociological thinkers. This herstory counters narratives that have kept women less visible.
